Hi,

I ve just installed dnn 6.0 and i m having the following error

Installing DotNetNuke

Upgrade Error: ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

I have checked everything and even recreated the database twice but i still have the same error. My connection strings as below:

<!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005/2008 -->
<add
name="SiteSqlServer"
connectionString="Server=ABC3-18XYZ;Database=dnnNew6Com;uid=dnnNew6Com;pwd=newV6; " providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
</connectionStrings>

<appSettings>
<!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005/2008 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules   -->
<add key="SiteSqlServer"
value="Server=Server=ABC3-18XYZ;Database=dnnNew6Com;uid=dnnNew6Com;pwd=newV6;" />

Please help!

Cheers, Nitha

please make sure, the user specified for SQL Server has been granted dbOwner permission for the database and remove connection has been enabled for your SQL server.

Thanks Sebastian.

Yes sql user permission granted is dbOwner.

But i cant seem to find anything on "SQL server enable" remove it. The closest i came up was as below:

<add name="AspNetSqlMembershipProvider" type="System.Web.Security.SqlMembershipProvider" connectionStringName="SiteSqlServer" enablePasswordRetrieval="true" enablePasswordReset="true" requiresQuestionAndAnswer="false" minRequiredPasswordLength="7" minRequiredNonalphanumericCharacters="0" requiresUniqueEmail="false" passwordFormat="Encrypted" applicationName="DotNetNuke" description="Stores

I m not very good at codings so if you could specifically tell me where i should look for this it would very much help me.

Cheers, Nitha
