Hi Gilles,

I have installed DotNetNuke5.1.4 install version in windows 7 referring the link: http://adefwebserver.com/dotnetnukehe...

Now I have installed store3.0 source code through DNN and tried to open store solution file in visual studio 2008. As the store is built for .netframework2.0 I had converted that to 3.5, while conversion I get the below message:

The local IIS URL http://localhost/DotNetNuke_2/Desktop... specified for Web project DotNetNuke.Store.Cart.AtosProvider has not been configured. In order to open this project the virtual directory needs to be configured. Would you like to create the virtual directory now?"

When I say Yes it gives a message:
Creation of the virtual directory http://localhost/DotNetNuke_2/Desktop... failed with the error: The URL 'http://localhost/DotNetNuke_2/DesktopModule/Store/Cart/Providers/GatewayProviders/AtosProvider/' is already mapped to a different folder location.

Any breakthrough for the above message?

Thanks,
Raj

Hi Raj,

You encounter this error because you have NOT followed all my advices from the post to install the source version! :-)
Your DNN instance is NOT installed inside C:\DotNetNuke_2\ and you have NOT edited the solution file to correct path and website ref BEFORE opening the solution file with VS!

Two solutions:
  1. Follow my advices and install your DNN inside C:\DotNetNuke_2\ and define a virtual folder inside IIS as http:\\localhost\DotNetNuke_2\ pointing to your DNN folder
  2. Correct the path and website ref in the solution file BEFORE open with VS

This problem is related to VS not to the Store module nor DNN.

Gilles

Hi Gilles,

Now  I get the below error. I am using WindowsXP which uses IIS5.1, so accoridng to the below error message I had set the user permissions for the folder C:\DotNetNuke_2 as ASP.Net(Full Control). But still I get the same error as below.

Please suggest me a solution

DotNetNuke Configuration Error

Access to the path 'C:\DotNetNuke_2\Website\web.config' is denied.

Your DotNetNuke installation appears to have a security settings problem (most likely permissions). DotNetNuke has extensive file upload capabilities for content, modules, and skins. These features require custom security settings so that the application is able to create and remove files in your website.

Using Windows Explorer, browse to the root folder of the website ( C:\DotNetNuke by default ). Right-click the folder and select Sharing and Security from the popup menu ( please note that if you are using Windows XP you may need to Disable Simple File Sharing before these options are displayed ). Select the Security tab. Add the appropriate User Account and set the Permissions.
Your Operation System appears to be Windows XP
  • If using Windows 2000 - IIS5
    1. the [SERVER]\ASPNET User Account must have Read, Write, and Change Control of the virtual root of your website.
  • If using Windows 2003 - IIS6 or Vista/Windows 2008 - IIS7
    1. the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE User Account must have Read, Write, and Change Control of the virtual root of your website.

Image showing the security settings for the root folder of the website must be set to Read, Write and Change Control for the ASPNET or NT AUTHORITY/NETWORK SERVICE accounts.

The above error message has been solved by changing virtual directory physical path from "C:\DotNetNuke_2" to  "C:\DotNetNuke_2\Website".
