I'm selling music through the store module, and would like to change the wording from Manufacturer to Artist, model # and name to album and track title, respectively.  I've read in previous posts to edit them with the language editor, however my attempts at locating the value in the language pack to change have not succeeded.

I have tried to edit the templates (.htm) files with visual studio to change how the products appear in the store with visual studio 2010 but it had no effect on the display.

Anyone have any resources, links, or methods to successfully manipulate both field names (Manufacturer, Model Name, Model Number) either through SQL (I dont have any custom stored procedures) or through the Language pack editor?

Hi,

To translate/adapt the Store module login to your website as host or admin and go to Admin > Language then click on the pencil bellow 'System' in the column to the right. In the left column, expand LocalResources > DesktopModules > Store > App_LocalResources and select ProductDetail.ascx, you should found the resources named: Manufacturer.Text and ModelNumber.Text. Never remove the '{n}' (where n is a number), this is used to inject the corresponding value from the product record.

To personalize your store, please read the Templating Guide available at Codeplex. Everything is explained to change the templates and email templates.

Thanks, that got me going in the right direction. Is there a way to change the Blue color of the store module to a different on, like red, or on another site I'm working on (at the client's request), hot pink?

Hi Matthew,

Of course you can change the color, to do this please read the templating guide. You will learn where are stored the CSS files and how to configure the Store module. Then after, yo have to modify your hown copy of the CSS files to comply with your requirements (color, size, font, ...).
