it is the same as with every version - it will be released, when it is ready.

Im would guess, it will take some weeks, noth months, from now, but this depends on experiences during testing - and I am sure, you will prefer a stable release instead of an early one with issues not solved.

Please never forget: this is a volunteer project!

Actually, it has been posted here many times by Robert that the next release should be available this week, if that's not true I would like to know so I can stop waiting to base my efforts with this project and just start my own.

I understand "it will be ready when it's ready" and the volunteer nature of the project, but providing release times within at least a margin of error of a certain week would only serve to strengthen the project's support.

I also think that many people would prefer anything rather than a stable release - something to consider. Some open source projects actually allow unstable release downloads (or current source repository downloads) so that at least people can see how things are intended to work in the next stable version.

In my opinion holding back releases just seems to slow development down and frustrate people who would otherwise be fervent supporters. There may be some great additions to the code base that could come from non-project members that are simply missed under the current model.

sorry, i did't want to start a flame (or troll), simple know when you think to
release the new beta version (Robert said this week).

i full agree with gsc4, and i've the doubt that current model is usefull only to
maximize the benefactor program (so if you pay, ops donate, you can access
latest snapshots)

i'm member in other open source projects but in each one we schedule a lot of
releases each months, here 1 release in 3 months... but if you became a benefactor...

i was thinking to partecipate in bug fixing of Store module, but i don't want to donate
my time to people that wanna make money with other people works. so i'm thinking
to fork this project and develop over it for me...

this is only my own opinion, i don't want to open a controversy, simply discuss

regards

Luca
