Hi Gilles,

I have two questions today:

First, is there any way to disable the 'Order Status Changed' email, or if not, redirect it to another email address of my choosing?

Second, is there anyway to remove the 'Model Number' selection from the sorting dropdown box on the catalog page? Or, can this easily be configured to sort by decimal. The current nvarchar field is sorting my numbers as text.

As usual, your thoughts on this are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

John

Hi John,

Sorry but I have only one respinse: no! :-(

For me it look logical to inform your customer by sending an email when the order status change.

Concerning the Model Number I used nvarchar because a reference can contains characters. Imagine you sells books, you will use this field to contains the ISSN number of the book.

On the other hand, I think than both suggestions could be usefull for everyone. I will add them in a future version.

Gilles

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi Gilles,

If the 'Order Status Changed' email can't be rerouted or disabled, can the  status be changed to display 'Processing' instead of  Awaiting Payment?  I am pretty much at a standstill until I can come up with a work around to disable or change this email. I am willing to try about anything.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

Of course you can change all strings of the Store module using the DotNetNuke Language Editor! ;-)

I know that the 'Processing' term is not always well understood. But it come from the Store v1. You should not replace it by 'Awaiting Payment' because this term is already used when the email gateway is used (no online payment, by mail or other). The term 'Processing' means that the visitor has confirmed his order, but that it was not yet clicked on the gateway icon (PayPal or Authorize). May be a better term could be 'Order confirmed' or 'Order registered' or something like that.

Gilles,

'WHEW' I am starting to breath again! I sounds like there is a work-around.

I know what I am requesting sounds a bit unorthodox so I should briefly describe what I am doing,

I am using your module in a Special Situation. I have a large controlled group of users that are allowed to order. The orders made by these users are paid by another 3rd party. That is why the first email describing the order is appropriate, but the second, requesting payment from the orderer, isn't in this case.  Since I can't redirect the 'Status Changed Awaiting Payment'  email, I have come up with the idea to have the email merely remind them that their order is being 'Processed'. Thus the need to change the term from 'Awaiting Payment' to 'Processing' or 'In Process'. And since I am directing all of this activity utilizing the'email provider', I am directing the payment emails to the party responsible for payment and monitoring this situation myself.

Now for fear of ME sounding too much fo a DUMMY, can you tell me how to find these strings in the module?

Thank you again for all of your patience.

John
