My host provides a shared SSL which I would like to use for secure login and a couple other pages.

I configured the Shared SSL in my host control panel. Then in DNN I enabled SSL under the site settings. In IIS I have a http redirect setup to the virtual directory that DNN is installed in. So for the SSL URL I put HostDomain.com/myDomain/VirtualDirectory and for the Standard URL I put myDomain/VirtualDirectoy.

Now if I create a page and check secure in the page settings the page is not accessible. When I go to the page (https://HostDomain.com/myDomain/VirtualDirectory/page.aspx) I get a Server Aplication Unavailable message. If I stick an HTML file out their I can view it perfectly with the same https://HostDomain.com/myDomain/VirtualDirectory/page.html. So the shared SSL Cert must be working but something must not be working in DNN?

I dare not do anything to the login until I can get it to work correctly for a test page. Any help would be great.

Well, my first recommendation is to ensure that you have a proper alias setup for the different URL within the Portal Alias definitions.

Yes, I checked this.  Their is a portal alias set for both the SSL URL and the Standard URL that match the SSL URL and the Standard URL that are I entered in the SSL Setting section.

But when going to a page that has security turned on I get the fallowing message:

Server Application Unavailable

The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable.  Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request.

Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur.

Any ideas?
