Yes this is possible

After moving the portal to new server do these steps

  1. Open "PortalAlias" table of your database and do entry for your new domain name in "HTTPAlias" column  i.e --

             Dev.Mydomain.com/PortalA    to    PortalA.Mydomain.com/PortalA

for accessing the child portal by sub domain you need to set the subdoamin alias in the childportal its simple but the problem the the when you create the sub domain through hosting Control panel then it creates the folder under the www folder and that makes the problem you need to set the subdomain setting that redirect to the doamin like

 

www.yourdomain.com/childportal name
