Hi

In the past I used this document to modify my 5.01 DNN sites to produce "human friendly" urls.
http://www.learnmsnet.com/post/Configuring-DotNetNuke-to-Produce-a-Human-Friendly-URL.aspx

However the web config file looks different in 5.1 whats the new way?

this section hasn't changed (it might be written in a single line), however I suggest to upgrade to DNN 5.1.1 and get humanfriendly urls enabled by default.

Hi

I am running 5.1.1 and the tabid URLS are in there still. So they arent working by default.

Have you verified that they are actually enabled in Host Settings / Advanced Settings / Friendly Url Settings / Use Friendly Urls?

I'm fairly sure that the humanFriendly attribute is not added for upgrades, but (as Sebastian indicated) is enabled by default for new deployments.  As such, the attribute will need to be manually added in 4.x installations that are upgraded.

The change will need to be made in the configuration/dotnetnuke/friendlyUrl/providers/add[@name = 'DNNFriendlyUrl'] node of the web.config; I believe the attribute is urlformat="HumanFriendly".

Hope this helps!

Brandon
