Can I link an event to a user role?

So only users with a certain user role (group) can see the event.?

I would like to have an event system for a large group of people, but only persons belonging to groups should see the events of those goups.

I am using the roles for the groups, all users will login to the website.

Hi Hans,

There is capability in the module to achieve this, whether it scales to your needs is another matter. You can use the modules permissions to restrict a single intsnace of the module to a group of users. This can be done across multiple module instances. So Group A is set up for Module A, Group B for Module B and so on.

Assuming you want all these to be displayed via one calendar (Module Z) on your home page for example, then make Module A,B,etc sub-calendars to Module X. This is done via module settings, in the sub-calendars section. If you are using Events 5.x, this will observe your security set up on the sub-calendars and only display eventys the user is entitled to see.

Cheers
Roger

Hi Roger,

Thanks for the answer.

This solution would require a lot of modules and it won't work if a user is member of multiple groups.
