Canada has two taxes that apply to goods:  Goods and Services Tax (GST) of 7% that would be applied if a purchaser resided in the country of Canada; and Provincial Sales Tax (PST) - i.e. 8% for the province of Ontario, that would be in addition to the GST if the buyer resided in the province.

Will there be a way to accommodate these two conditions?

The tax functionality is being implemented using the provider pattern to provide a mechanism to accommodate a variety of tax scenarios.  You can look forward to seeing this functionality in the next release.

Just a quick note about the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Harmonized Sales tax (HST)  in Canada....

GST is being reduced from 7% to 6% and HST from 15% to 14% on July 1, 2006 (Canada Day).

Also note that the current government is planning to reduce it to 5% in the future.
