Goodmorning All,

I'm trieing to configure Evenents Module as follow:

- I've created different Events Module in the same page called CALENDAR (any collegue as a events module called like collegue)

- I've configured Page Permission to allow all registered user to see CALENDAR Page

- I've configured any single events module permission in order to be able to give permmission only to owner of the module (i.e Page CALENDAR - Events module name: Giuseppe Nappo -  I've configured this module permission in orede to give view and modify permission  only to Giuseppe Nappo )

Why single owner are not able tu add events? (in my i.e. Giuseppe Nappo is not able to add events becouse he don't see the link "add Events" in his Events Module)

Thanks to All and Best Regard

Gisueppe Nappo

Hi Giuseppe,

The problem is very likely that you don't have a container on the module instance. In Events 4.0.2 the Add Event action is in the container not in the module itself. In Events 5.0.0 this has changed and the actions are in the module, so you can hide the container.

Make sure of course that the user has moderate authority for the module instance.

Roger

For the Events module you have to give page edit rights as well as module edit rights (at least in the older Events versions -- I have not tested this in the latest version, yet).

EDIT:  Not using a container as Roger said is the issue cause for the case I mentioned.  Making the container visible reveals the "Add Event" option for a (non-admin) module owner.

Hi Roger,

first of all, thanks for replay...

...i'm not sure on DNN version... i've buy a service from aruba... web farm that sell me space for my site... i've open a ticket to know the DNN version....

i've created a test-account... i've created a new event module in CALENDAR page... and i've added  "test-account" with "view module" and "edit module" permission in the "Module Settings" \ "Permission"... Loging as test-account, i can see event module and i've three option: "View Month" "View Week" "List Events" BUT NOT  "Add Event"

As you've said... i've removed "Display Container" flag in "Module Settings" \ "Page Settings" \ "Basic Sattings" on Event Module...  and through test-account, i'm not able to see any option... i've added "Display Container" flag... and i'm able to see the same three option: "View Month" "View Week" "List Events" but not "Add Event"

Thanks & Best Regard

Giuseppe Nappo

ps I've setted page permission as follow:

"Page Management" \ "Basic Settings" \ "Page Details" \ "Permission"   "Registered Users" -> "View Page"  (Administrators "View Page" & "Edit Page" as default)

You need to make sure Aruba have you at least using Events 4.0.2. It has many many bug fixes over earlier versions. Are you sure you have the user in a group that you have given edit permissions to? Or have directly applied the permissions to the user by adding the user to the permissions grid.
