Hello,

I am using Events module version 03.08.03 on DNN 04.04.01.

The problem I am having is if an event is entered that has dates which spans to multiple months, the event dates comes out wrong.  For example, Event1 occurs 10 February 2009 to 20 March 2009.  When the event details is viewed from the February month view, the dates are correct.

Now, change the calendar view to March.  This time, event detail shows 19 February 2009 to 29 March 2009.  Obviously, it should still have event dates 10 February 2009 to 20 March 2009 and there shouldn't be any occurence of this event from 21-29 March 2009.

Somehow, it added 10 days to it.

Has anyone seen this before? Please help.

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

This an a number of similar problem in Events 3.3.8 were solved with the release of Events 4.0.2, which is the current production release. Note that to use Events 4.0.2 you site must be running DNN 4.5.5.

Cheers
Roger

Roger,

Thank you for the confirmation.  I had a feeling that this has been brought up and was resolved.  I needed to prove that this was the case because that will justify the need to upgrade our DNN version.

Regards,

Ryan

Roger,

I have to ask you if you can tell me how to fix this issue without upgrading to the new version.  We do not have any plans to upgrade our DNN soon because of the ramifications it will cauise into our organization.

So Is there a patch that I can run or anything that I can do to fix this problem?

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

There is no patch for this, and I'm afraid I won't be able to create one. It took weeks to correct all the bugs in date processing in 3.3.8, something I don't relish repeating. I'll ask Ernst Peter if we can back compile 4.0.2 to be used against DNN 4.4.1, but I think it has hardcoded dependencies on 4.5.5..

My other suggestion is to avoid situation which cause problems. Don't use recurring events, don't use events that span months, etc...

Cheers
Roger
