Hi All,

I'm an experienced, albeit retired for  12 years now, database programmer.  I am new to DNN but have made the jump to buying a domain name and hosting. I was assuming that a chat feature was built into DNN and then, until I found this forum, was beginning to worry that I'd made a mistake! So, to get to the point,

  1. Where is the REAL TIME chat feature/module?
  2. Is it part of DNN or do I have to buy it?
  3. Is it part of DNN 4 or DNN 5 only?
  4. What is the life expectancy of DNN 4 anyway?
  5. Are there superior 3rd party DNN 4-specific chat modules?

Thanks all,

Steve Carmeli

You can get the Chat module for free in the Downloads section on this page. It's not included in the DNN package but is available as a separate download.

If it's stuck but's not supposed to be, WD-40 it.
If it's not stuck but supposed to be, duct tape it.
