Hi all,

The other day I had use for a chat module on one of my sites.
Looked around a bit and tried a few different chat modules but didn't really like any of them.
But I think the core chat module is a diamond in rough.

So developers: What are the future of the chat module?
Are there any updates scheduled?

I would first of all like to see the content preserverd so that you can leave the module and come back and still seee the content.
I would also like to be able to set a time for how long the content should be available. From like an hour to a couple of days perhaps.
And of course keep the content even if you close the browser and move to another machine = store in db.
They you would of course have to be able to view "Date" and "Time" for the postings in the chat window.

Example:
[superuser Joined [2009-01-24 10:00]]
superuser says [2009-01-24 10:00] :
aasdfasdfsad

Another cool feature would be if the chat window could undock and float around in the site.

You would also have to look over the options in the Settings page and make sure they work as expected. They don't do that today. And add some explanations to the different settings.

Looking forward to your feedback!
Thanks
Mikael

Hi Mikael,

As you've noticed, we haven't been the most active project in the history of DNN lately. I am really sorry for that. But still, there are plans for the future of the module. The first suggestions you give (about persisting content) are also our top priorities.

Allthough I can't give any kind of date, rest assured that the module will be continued to be developed.

Greetz,

Stefan

Thanks mate,

Let me also add to the wish list a list of logged on users so that you can see who is online.

Mikael

That one's actually being worked on at the moment.

Hi Stefan,
Just wondering what the plans are for my wish list? Anything scheduled?

Cheers
Mikael
