You should use openwebstudiio to create your own Google Map so you have full control over it.

If you let me know what you need the map to do I can whip up a quick example for you.

That's a great idea Adski, if you are able to show the skeleton of how to get google maps to accept data from OWS that would be great!  Could you post it on openwebstudio.com too please?

I'd love to see a live example of what OWS can do - at the very least it has to do this - http://www.pokerdiy.com/find-by-map.aspx

Most of the work here are my SQL statements which just get the data from my Smart-Thinker mods, Ventrian PA etc. and populate it into the core map format so it can be geocoded. I use scheduled sps (Host Commander) to update it periodically with new items.

What I WANT to do tho is start using the search feature like in this demo: http://www.snowcovered.com/Snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=15452  (top image)

So it automatically defaults to the user's location and shows all poker games near him. He can get directions to them and seach on location. I believe this is quite simple with a Google Map, but no one is working on the core one. It needs to be templatable so that I can change icons. zoom levels, detail templates etc.

Would that be possible with OWS?
