Hi,

I use the old Bi4ce module on my poker players page. It's time to upgrade. I want to use this module but most of the queries here go unanswered (I am not blaming anyone, I know it's open-source free etc. and no one who uses DNN has time ;)

So, after a quick search in Snow, it looks like the following contenders:

  1. This core maps module
  2. ZLDNN Business Map
  3. AntaMaps
  4. JetKey (not sure if this module is stil laround, no info on site or Snow)
  5. Other?

My requirements are quite simple I think. I want to show a single map with Flags on the top (like my Location Search). This will drill down into the regions of a country and show poker leagues, poker groups, poker games (Ventrian Property Agent) and poker players (each with a different icon). It will just show link and click through to the relevant detail screen.

Directions to, search on address etc. would be nice to haves.

So, who has used any of these modules, is this possible and which module would you recommend (I don't mind paying for a module if it saves me an hour of configuration and support is good).

Wow, has nobody faced this choice before? I am going to go with the core one if nobody has any opinions then...

*update* - You can now search on poker games, groups, leagues and players on a seach map here. It meets my of my requirements above but there are still some things it can't do, and I have this question about how to keep new data in synch with the MapPoints table.

I tried AntaMaps but couldn't get it to work.  Most likely me and not the module. :-)

I bought ZLDNN Business Map.  It is 3 modules in one.  SimpleMap, Business Map and Business Map2.  They each do slightly different things.  I use Business Map to show park locations.  You have the ability to add the directions To Here & From Here and whatever other info you wish in the pop up bubble.  You can also import and use custom markers.  In addition, you can set at what zoom level the markers will be visible.

Each support request was answered fairly quickly and overall I am satisfied.  I'm sure I'm not using it to its fullest potential but I think it will meet your needs.

There seems to be a new contender which has got great reviews - Netism Map Extreme.

Any one used the ZLDNN one or this one?

I'm gonna switch from the core map module ASAP - there has been no support for this for over a year and none in sight...
