There is no parameter required, so I hope I understand your definition of multiple instances. This is what I mean by multiple instances...

On a single page I place a newsfeed module in the top panel, and set it as a ticker with a set of rss feeds.

In the left and right panes I also add the feed module and give them a different set of rssfeeds. and set them as vertical scrolling.

So in fact I have used the control pane to add three different NewsFeed modules and individually set them with their own feeds and settings.

This is what I mean by multiple instances, let me know if this is what you are trying to do?

Cheers

Craig

Ok I use default for test (same result with other but just did a fast test).

Multiple instance .... more then on module on same page.

Parameters ..... Ajax or not ajax. If I use Ajax it does not work. If I dont use ajax the loadtime is terrrible.

Cach time I cant figure out how these parameters works seems to bee overwritten in all cases.

The problems occure when loading the first time, and after the timelimit in cash is due and when clearing the cash.

I get the java error in IE  with ajax and one or more modules on the page.

Could you Craig give me two feeds for me to test to see if its my feed that are the reason?  I doubt it I have tested a few but just to exlude the feeds.

Hi Jan,

You are testing 04.00.01, right? This includes a fix for the issue where mutliple instances of the module on a single page that all need refreshing would not do so properly (in fact only the last module would be refreshed and would display). The fix concentrates on avoiding multiple calls to the server at the same time. It appears that Ajax calling while another request was in process, destroys that ongoing request. So now it waits for a call to complete before restarting a request. This is done using the LoadLater.js file.

If you switch off Ajax in the module settings, then all loading is done before page rendering. This will slow down you page load if there are feeds to refresh.

Can you tell me what JS error you have seen?

Message: 'Sys.Webforms.PageRequestManager' is null or not an object

Jan,

Is Ajax installed on your DNN and active?

What is puzzling is that the PageRequestManager is not something the module developer should be concerned with. I do a regular test to see if Ajax is enabled and emit the proper objects.

The date is still in english.

Jan,

The date is handled in XSL. If you want another date then write the proper XSL for it.
