Add this script to your page:

<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" >
function HideSubmitButton(target)
{
    obj=(document.all) ? document.all[target] : document.getElementById(target);
    obj.style.display=(obj.style.visibility=='hidden') ? 'inline' : 'hidden';
}
</script>

In your code add a button with a handler that calls the script to hide the button.

        Private Function AddSubmitSearchLink() As LinkButton

            Try

                Dim objBtn As New LinkButton

                    With objBtn
                        .Text = Services.Localization.Localization.GetString("SubmitButton", LocalResourceFile)
                        .OnClientClick = "onClientClick="" HideSubmitButton('lnkSubmit')"""
                        .ID = "lnkSubmit"
                        .CssClass = "grdAddButton"
                    End With
                    AddHandler objBtn.Command, AddressOf Me.lnkSubmit_Click

                Return objBtn

            Catch ex As Exception

                Return Nothing

            End Try

        End Function
