Hi,

I've been playing around with the map module today (i have an import of 160 stores to edit and prepare for mass import to the map_points table), trying to make sure that i'll be laying out the data to import correctly. I just can NOT get the geolocator to work.

i have tried typing in an addres under data by clicking new
i have tried clicking Find address, when it returns the results successfullly returning a long/lat, i copy and paste the exact address returned to a new location
i have tried manually typing into the SQL database through SQL Management studio
i have verified with google maps that the addresses i type (copyt and paste off the Data page in the map module) correctly return 1 and 1 only result.

Obviously my Google API key works, and the addresses i am putting in do return a result - the "find address" wizard proves this. So why is it, and what can i do when i import my 170 stores en-masse, to get the "execute geo" button to actually DO THAT JOB!

On a side note, is it possible to modify the program to map "All users", rather than "users online" - i could just add adresses to all of my 170 store locations (that are already users), but not add addresses to any guest users, so that only stores will get mapped.

Hi,

I've now attempted to install and reinstall the module on my test server, as well as a local copy running out of my machine with the same results - no matter what i put in, the geo-coding doesn't even appear to be attempted. the column in map points "failedgeo" or whatever, always remains null after clicking Execute Geo.

Reading through the forum its clear that the geocoding does work, so is it possible the latest version has broken geocoding? I was unable to find a previous release for download though:(

Any response would be fantastic.

Charles

hi,

Hoping i can get some feedback from anyone who's experienced this, or someone with advice on something i've overlooked that i can try. 2 fresh installs on 2 separate machines following the tutorial click for click - just doesn't add up, has anyone got a previous version of the map module i can try incase the latest version is my problem?

I am having exactly the same problem.  I can geo locate using the form, but records inserted into the map_points table never get located.
