Typically the need for a Development/Production environment is for testing and building of new modules, skins, upgrades etc.  Before doing the actual changes on production.

Exactly why it's exists...but you ould always use (plug for a known associate)  KHZ's Portal Duplicator.  It will copy database as well as istalled modules etc.  Find it on www.kodhedz.net


You CAN have everything you want in life....You just have to work hard to get it.
