I install the Store module and create several categories. When I browse to say 3rd page of a category, and then click on another category name, which has 2 pages only, no item can be shown in the catalog container and the page number shows 'page 3 of 2'. Is this a bug or is there any parameter that can be set to make it display the 1st page of the category when the category name is clicked?

A lot of bugs was corrected in the next version (02.01.00). I do not know when it is released, but you can follow the progression in the release tracker.
