Hi I am playing with this new store module v2 that i downloaded from dotnetnuke.fr .

So far I am loving it, but I am trying to extend a few features to see how easy it is.  I am adding a second type of menu, one for Manufacturers, I can get the view part down, but for some reason I am trying to creating the settings ascx file and I cant get it to load for the life of me.

I defined the extended settings in the ModuleSettings for catalog, and I basically copied the CategorySettings.ascx.cs & CategoryMenu.ascx.cs & renamed everything to Manufacturer .  No other changes were made.  I defined the module settings inside DotNetNuke as well.

I can view the list fine, but when i click settings for that module, i get this error:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Unhandled Error Adding Module to ContentPane ---> System.Web.HttpParseException: Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Modules.WWStore.WebControls.ManufacturerSettings'. ---> System.Exception: Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Modules.WWStore.WebControls.ManufacturerSettings'. ---> System.Exception: Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Modules.WWStore.WebControls.ManufacturerSettings'. ---> System.Web.HttpException: Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Modules.WWStore.WebControls.ManufacturerSettings'. at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.GetType(String typeName, Boolean ignoreCase, Boolean throwOnError) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ProcessInheritsAttribute(String baseTypeName, String codeFileBaseTypeName, String src, Assembly assembly) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.PostProcessMainDirectiveAttributes(IDictionary parseData) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ProcessException(Exception ex) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.PostProcessMainDirectiveAttributes(IDictionary parseData) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ProcessMainDirective(IDictionary mainDirective) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControlParser.ProcessMainDirective(IDictionary mainDirective) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ProcessDirective(String directiveName, IDictionary directive) at System.Web.UI.BaseTemplateParser.ProcessDirective(String directiveName, IDictionary directive) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControlParser.ProcessDirective(String directiveName, IDictionary directive) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ParseStringInternal(String text, Encoding fileEncoding) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ProcessException(Exception ex) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ParseStringInternal(String text, Encoding fileEncoding) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ParseString(String text, VirtualPath virtualPath, Encoding fileEncoding) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ParseString(String text, VirtualPath virtualPath, Encoding fileEncoding) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ParseFile(String physicalPath, VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ParseInternal() at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.Parse() at System.Web.Compilation.BaseTemplateBuildProvider.get_CodeCompilerType() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildProvider.GetCompilerTypeFromBuildProvider(BuildProvider buildProvider) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildProvidersCompiler.ProcessBuildProviders() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildProvidersCompiler.PerformBuild() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CompileWebFile(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(String virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Modules.ModuleSettingsPage.Page_Init(Object sender, EventArgs e) in F:\DotNetNuke\Website\Admin\Modules\ModuleSettings.ascx.vb:line 493 at System.Web.UI.Control.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.UserControl.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.AddedControl(Control control, Int32 index) at System.Web.UI.ControlCollection.Add(Control child) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(Control objPane, ModuleInfo objModule, PortalSettings PortalSettings) in F:\DotNetNuke\Library\Components\Skins\Skin.vb:line 587 --- End of inner exception stack trace

I cant figure this out for the life of me, so if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

ignore this, this was from  a dumb mistake.. I didnt add the new ascx file to the correct  area.  I added it to the website instead of the WWStore.Webcontrols.    Thats why VS never built the file and thats why i got the "could not load type" error.

Hi,

I'm glad to see that you solved the problem. Don't worry, the solution is a big one with many files and it's yours first steps inside.

Gilles

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.
