I feel like I should pay you $79 just for spending the time to respond as you did.      Obviously, you are very proud of your product and confident of its capabilities. Well done.  I stand corrected.

Cheers

Hi Franck,

Until now, I did not complain about your systematic advertisement for your product. But now you are aggressive with the users. I point out the rules of the forum to you which appear in bottom of each page:

  1. No Advertising. This includes promotion of commercial and non-commercial products or services which are not directly related to DotNetNuke.
  2. Discussion or promotion of DotNetNuke product releases under a different brand name are strictly prohibited.
  3. No Flaming or Trolling.

You can promote your product in the "Announce It!" forum, this is the RIGHT place!

Please for future posts be:

  • Cool, because users don't want to be flamed when their ask for something.
  • Gentle, because it's NOT the right way to be aggressive with your future clients (if they choose to buy your product).
  • Fair, because you can't compare a COMMERCIAL product with a FREE product with only one person devoted on his spare time (me).

Gilles

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi Gilles

I have to say your clueless posting disappointed me. Let me explain it to you one by one

This rule means forum users cannot advertise any products or services not related to DNN. Two examples will be advertising osCommerce modules or Community Server hosting. It's obvious Alicommerce IS related to DNN, so it can be advertised in the forums. Actually that's what a lot of DNNers have been doing every day.

This rule means you cannot create your own fork based on DotNetNuke, call it DNN XXL or whatever, and then discuss and promote the fork here. AliCommerce is not a fork of DotNetNuke, it's just a commercial DNN module, so it can be discussed in the fourms.

I flamed nobody. I disagreed with Gwaka on his comments and then I explained why his comments are not quite right. In his second post, he actually wrote, "I stand corrected".  Can’t you see it?

Since you couldn't understand forum rules correctly, what you wrote here is baseless. If you have read my other posts in the forums, you have to agree I have been a very nice guy and never said anything unfair to anybody or any products. I have never mentioned core store module before this thread. I mentioned it in my previous post because another guy happened to compare our products with it.

Now let me ask you a question. How is the whole discussion related to you? Maybe because you're on store team now, so you're different?! So what?  Anybody who has been with store project long enough knows Robert Collins' team laid foundation for the project and djbaldwin did most development work after that. Despite the respect for you for your contribution, I also think this forum is nobody's private "property".  If somebody asks alternatives of core store modules tomorrow, I will still recommend AliCommerce. Why not? As long as I play by rules, I don’t think it should be a trouble to anybody.
