I have an existing portal running DNN 3.1.1 and there are about 4000 users registered in that portal, now there is a requirment to port those users to a new portal running DNN 4.5.5, I do not want to upgrade the original portal since it has alot of custom modules that will not run on DNN 4.

Is there a way to port all the user?

Thanks in advance.

There is a module from PHD available at www.snowcovered, that you install on old portal to export users as xml file and on new portal to import users (and roles). Warning: Make sure, all users' passwords meet the password requirements of the new site!

You could try to clone your site, then upgrade the cloned site to 4.5.5. Then copy the data from your user/membership tables to your new install.
