Hi Ram,

You can try WWStore 02.00.08 available at www.dotnetnuke.fr. I added lot of tokens in this version. For doing what you need, you just have to look at the template files. You find it inside ..\DesktopModules\WWStore\Templates. The token [MODELNAME] display only the name of the product and the token [TITLE] display the complete name (manufacturer + modelname + nodelnumber).

Gilles

Hi Gilles,

just a quick question.

If we want to package the token modifications, do we have to rebuild all the projects with the next version? Or is it enough, just to replace the template files inside the WWStore Installation folder and change the version of the WWStore manifest file?

regards,

Dimitris

Hi Dimitris,

You can choose one of this three cases:

  1. If you don't want modify the install package
    • On the developement computer:
      • Go to Store Admin, check the setting "Portal Templates" and Save. If the ..\Portalsl\n\ folder DO NOT contain a sub folder WWStore, then all templates files (htm, css, images) will be copied inside ..\Portals\n\WWStore\.
      • Create a zip file with the folder ..\Portals\n\WWStore\ including sub folders.
    • On the production server:
      • Install the WWStore install package without modification.
      • Upload your zip file and unzip it inside ..\Portals\n\.
      • Go to Store Admin, configure your store and check "Portal Templates".
  2. If you have modified only existing templates
    • Open the zip installation package
    • Replace existing files by your modified files
  3. If you have added templates files
    • Extract the file: DNN WWStore.dnn
    • Open it with your favorite editor
    • Search for the word: Templates, you will find lines like this one:
      •     <file>
             <path>Templates</path>
             <name>Catalog.htm</name>
            </file>
    • Add one group of lines for each added files with the correct file name:
      •     <file>
             <path>Templates</path>
             <name>MyFile.htm</name>
            </file>
    • Move the file DNN WWStore.dnn inside the zip installation package, and add your files too.

Hi Ram,

You can use dnn 4.5.5 with source if you want. But your WWStore module will be "linked" to this version! Then your production server would use the version  4.5.5 at the minimum! This is why I use dnn 4.4.1, this way the WWStore module work with dnn 4.4.1 or above!

Concerning the virtual directory, you are right! It must point on to c:\DotNetNuke_2\Website. Sorry it's my mistake!

I have downloaded WWStore 02.00.08 (PA and source install) on www.dotnetnuke.fr, then I create a new install with dnn 4.4.1 and install the pa and the sources. Everything works! Moreover, the .suo file exist in the zip. I suppose you do not have the right WWStore version. There is no longer refer to d:\DotNetNuke_2. Please try to download the last version on www.dotnetnuke.fr.

Hi Gilles,

So, no code rebuild is needed .

You don't mention anything about changing the WWStore version inside the manifest file (for cases 2 and 3). I suppose that you mean that it isn't required to change the version of the modified package to work?

thanx a lot,

Dimitris

Hi Dimitris,

The template system was created from the first version of Store to enable "skinning" without rebuild the module. Because the code do not change, you do not have to increase version number. This is the same version with a different "look".

Of course, if you change the code, you MUST increase version number and create a new installation package.
