Shawn,

Understand your frustration.  I am also concerned.  You stated in your post that you corrected 90% of the errors.  I downloaded the source version from SourceForge, but found the.vb files to be missing.  Am I correct?  One of my concerns is the shipping charge error if the charge remains at 0.00.  Any possibility that you could send a copy of the fixed code; or direct me to where the source code can be found.  We have a client that wants to use this module and I am concerned about reliability and response.

Regards,

Jack

Hi Jack,

Wait a little more. The new version correct this.

Gilles

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Gilles,

I'm very grateful for your prompt response.  Actually, response in general from Core Team members and others has been excellant.  Any rough idea on timing one month, six months, etc.  I aplologize if I appear to be pushing, I just want to be able to communicate with my client.

Regards,

Jack

The actual release date is out of our control.  What we can control is when we submit it for release and how quick we respond to required changes.  Right now we are trying to get the package submitted for release by the end of next week.

Hi

I couldn´t agree more with you Shawn. I think all the DNN users needs to get a little bit better updates on this project. I am also a bit puzzled why things are taking such a long time. Delay upon delay has been announced in all the store forums. I thought the US DNN team had already been working on soon finishing the new version of the store? And now Will posted a note on monday saying that the french team has done an updated version.
Why re-invent the wheel? Can someone on the team give us frustrated DNN users any estimate on when the new release will be provided. We have waited patiently almost a year now for the new store module to be finished.

Looking forward to hear from someone.
Sincerely,
Rolf Forslund

What makes you think we are reinventing the wheel?  Yes, the Store Project has had several delays.  We are now making progress and making long term plans.  I became the project lead in February.   As I mentioned in previous posts, a lot of clean up work was necessary for any future release.  I then started to work on bugs fixes and a few new enhancements.  At the same time, the French DotNetNuke User Group decided to make their own modifications.  This was something they did on their own and not part of the Store Project.  Once they felt they had a stable product, they had to decide to release the module on their own or roll it into the Store Project.  What they had put together was even further along than the WWStore.  It only made sense to merge their code with the original Store Project.

As far as giving an exact date...

The actual release date is out of our control.  What we can control is when we submit it for release and how quick we respond to required changes.  Right now we are trying to get the package submitted for release by the end of next week.

Thanks,

Will
