With the previous verion of DNN we created class libraries for our modules.  In these class libraries we composed our ASCX files etc.

I would like to continue to do the same thing with DNN 4.x and VS 2005.

The problem is I don't seem to be able to get VS 2005 to recognize the ASCX files, and their code behind files, within a class library project like I did with VS 2003.

Exactly - this behaviour is no longer supported by Microsoft (it actually was never intended to be supported in VS 2003 - but it worked).

There are two ways to work in VS2005.

1. Using the approach shaun described which does all the module development in the web-project and then uses Precompile to get the assemblies.
2.  Use a similar approach to VS2003/.NET1.1 - ie with a Class Library for the Business Layer (Info/Controller/DataProvider), a separate Class Library for the SqlDataProvider class.  The main difference is that the UI components need to be in the web-project itself.
