About

New Community Website

Ordinarily, you'd be at the right spot, but we've recently launched a brand new community website... For the community, by the community.

Yay... Take Me to the Community!

The Community Blog is a personal opinion of community members and by no means the official standpoint of DNN Corp or DNN Platform. This is a place to express personal thoughts about DNNPlatform, the community and its ecosystem. Do you have useful information that you would like to share with the DNN Community in a featured article or blog? If so, please contact .

The use of the Community Blog is covered by our Community Blog Guidelines - please read before commenting or posting.

Using JavaScript Libraries in DNN

In December 2013, version 7.2 of the DNN Platform was released, which included a new type of extension, the JavaScript Library. At Engage, we've found this to be very useful to us in many scenarios, and we've been investing in creating a solid body o... Continue Reading »

One of my favorite things about the DNN community is meeting new people and learning about what they’re doing with DNN.  I first stumbled across Aaron Lopez a few years ago when he submitted himself for the first DNN Super Fan Contest.  Unf... Continue Reading »

DNN 7.4.0 Beta

I am pleased to announce that the DNN Platform 7.4.0 beta is now available for download. This release has been a labor of love by the entire community and I want to personally thank all those community members who contributed to help get this release ready. We are in the final couple of weeks and will only be making changes for any truly show stopping issues (i.e. unable to create pages, login, edit content etc.). Read the post for a summary of what is included in this release.

WebAPI 2.6 Debugging WebAPI using Fiddler and F12

Since the WebAPI is usually invisible and doesn't have a real output-page it’s a bit harder to debug. What makes things even more difficult is the fact that DNN doesn't log WebAPI errors (it should, but that's a pending issue). So I'll show you the most important tools to help you get started.

WebAPI 2.5 Routing or "How does the API-URL end up talking to this WebAPI-Code"

In this post I would like to help you understand what happens between the sheets - mostly from the moment the web server receives the request up to the moment where your code (your C# class) gets to do something.

Microsoft embracing and endorsing AngularJS

Developers following the true gospel of Microsoft have a tendency of using MSDN Magazine and Microsoft-Giveaways as their true source of information. This was the correct approach in the past when anything related to Mac or Linux was N/A (not applicable) for us true believers.
