This week I attended Microsoft’s Build Conference and it was a great event. I was there to promote the .NET Foundation and all things open source. If you remember, last November we announced that DNN had joined the .NET Foundation which brings a lot of benefits to our community. It was neat to meet several people who’s development careers had roots in DNN while I was at the conference.
April saw more positive traction and activity in the DNN ecosystem. Much of my recent time has been dedicated to assisting our current and new partners with the transition to the new DNN Partner program. As you are aware, based on feedback and insight provided by the DNN Partner Ecosystem Advisory Group we’ve made significant updates to the partner program. We are just about ready to share the updated directory with everyone and plan on launching the new directory on May 18th so keep your eyes out for the new directory.
Outside of the partner program the DNN Technology group and DNN Documentation group continues to meet weekly and the Developer’s group is having some great conversation about bringing a lot of the core modules current.
And last but not least… DNN-Connect is almost here! We are 3 weeks away from the next DNN conference which will be held in Ireland. Speakers and sessions are listed on the site and it’s going to be a great event. If you haven’t registered, there’s still time for you to join us! I’m really looking forward to this event and hope to see you there.

Adding Extension Options
By default, DNN ships with a few optional extensions which are available out of the box. deployment, If you would like to add your own optional extensions the Available Extensions menu, simply follow these easy steps:
- Navigate to the Install folder in the root of your DNN Installation.
- Place the extension package in the following folder in your root directory.
- Place your DNN extension package into a folder from the following list according to the type of extension it is: Skins (for Themes), Provider, Module, Library, AuthSystem
- Rename your extension from *.zip to *.resource
- Navigate to Settings > Extensions > Available Extensions then select the correct category from the “Showing” dropdown and your newly added extension be available to install or download to the local desktop.
