New Install: Can't Edit Pages

Hello. I'm new to DNN so I followed Chris Hammond's install video very carefully. I'm using the community edition on Vista SP2, IIS 7.0, and SQLSVR 2008 R2 Express. After the install package says it completes successfully, I launch the website as the SuperUser. When I click on the "Edit Page" button the Editor pop-up window launches, but after about 20 seconds of "thinking" the window closes and I end up back on an un-editable home page. I tried adding a new page. I was able to create a blank new page. When I click "Edit Page" on the newly created page I am redirected to the home page.

Thinking I may have done something wrong, I have followed the video 3 times now getting the same results each time. I have been using mojoportal for school projects at the University of Washington; however, a fellow student suggested I try DNN. He said he found it easier to use and more robust. I would really like to see this for myself; but, I have been trying to get the install to work unsuccessfully for over 3 hours now.

Can someone help with possible solutions? Thanks.
